Product Overview
The Union L22174 Everest multipoint gearbox is designed for enhanced security and ease of use. It features a robust 210mm x 30mm faceplate, ensuring a secure fit for your door. Please note that the strike plate, fixings, and shootbolt kits are no longer available, meaning existing shootbolts cannot be reused. As an alternative, the case can be operated solely as a deadbolt.
Operation
- Lift Lever or Split Spindle: This gearbox can be operated using either a lift lever mechanism or a split spindle nightlatch.
Latch Reversal
To reverse the latch, simply push it clear of the faceplate, twist it to reverse, and then release.
Locking and Unlocking Instructions
To Lock the Door:
- Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
- Lift the handle to engage the additional locking points.
- Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key. (Note: On some brands, the deadbolt will engage by lifting the handle.)
To Unlock the Door:
- Unlock the system by turning the key.
- Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points.
- A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.
