Vita XL gearboxes are designed for versatility and reliability, available in both 35mm and 45mm backsets. They come in single, double, and split spindle configurations, maintaining consistent dimensions across the range. Each unit measures 227mm high plus the backset of 35mm or 45mm, with a secure attachment to the strips via three equidistant screws. Notably, the middle screw is positioned 108mm from both the top and bottom screws, ensuring stability.
These gearboxes are equipped with a hook that throws upwards, crafted from Dacromet coated A3 sintered steel, standing approximately 23mm high. Additionally, a snib on the faceplate allows for convenient latch retention.
Operation: Lift Lever or Double Spindle
Latch Reversal: To reverse the latch, simply undo the screw, remove the latch, reverse it, and reinsert before securing the screw again.
To Lock the Door:
- Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
- Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
- Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key (note: on some brands, lifting the handle will automatically throw the deadbolt).
To Unlock the Door:
- Turn the key to unlock the system.
- Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
- A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.
