KFV Lever Multipoint Door Lock Overview

The KFV Lever multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and ease of use, featuring a robust configuration of 2 Pin Bolts, 1 Deadbolt, and 1 Latch.

Identification Tips

Identifying a KFV multipoint door lock can be tricky, especially with older models that lack a visible stamp on the faceplate. However, recent models proudly display the KFV logo. To accurately identify your lock, it’s advisable to remove it from the door.

  • Faceplate Colors: Early models have a yellow passivated faceplate and dark grey gearboxes, while newer versions feature shiny silver faceplates and light grey gearboxes.
  • Measurements: Use our outline drawings to match measurements for precise identification.

Modular Design

KFV locks have evolved, with many older models now discontinued. The new modular design eliminates the need for changing routing positions, simplifying replacements. When swapping out old locks, adjustments may be necessary for keeps or hook boxes, especially if the original routing has limited clearance.

Gearbox Specifications

  • Type: Single spindle
  • Centres: 92mm
  • Height: 210mm
  • Bolt Throws: 21mm
  • Latch to Deadbolt Distance: 56mm
  • Spindle to Case Distance: 85mm

Older KFV gearboxes are typically attached to the faceplate with 1/8" rivets, a feature shared with few other brands like Winkhaus. In contrast, newer models utilize screws for attachment.

Lock Variants

KFV locks are available in both lift lever and key wind variants. It’s important to note that these two types are not interchangeable.

Measuring Backset

When measuring the backset, remember to account for a 2-3mm allowance for the faceplate. For instance, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when detached from the strip.

Pin and Deadbolt Features

KFV pins are crafted from hardened steel for added security against sawing. The pins are small, round bolts with a chamfered tip that extend when the lock is engaged. The deadbolts feature a unique chamfered center, aiding in proper alignment with the keep.

Operating Instructions

To Lock the Door:

  1. Lift the handle upwards to engage the locking points.
  2. Secure the locking points and main deadbolt (if applicable) by turning the key.

To Unlock the Door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
