Installation and Operation

Backset Measurement: When measuring the backset, remember to allow 2-3mm for the faceplate. For instance, a 28mm backset gearbox will measure 25mm when not fixed to the strip.

Operation Modes: The gearbox can be operated using a lift lever or a double spindle mechanism.

Latch Reversal: To reverse the latch, simply undo the screw, remove the latch, reverse it, and reinsert before replacing the screw.
Locking and Unlocking Instructions
To Lock the Door:
- Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
- Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
- Throw the deadbolt and lock the system by turning the key (note: some brands may throw the deadbolt by lifting the handle).
To Unlock the Door:
- Turn the key to unlock the system.
- Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
- A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.
Latch Release Mechanism
If the latch is pushed in before fitting the case to the strip, it may stick. To release the latch, use one of the following methods based on your lock version:

Square Hold-Back Spindle: Turn the spindle follower at the top of the gearbox to release the latch.

Hollow White Plastic Insert: Insert a screwdriver into the face of the lock and push down on the white plastic piece to release the latch.

Normal Handle Spindle: If neither of the above features is present, insert a standard handle spindle through the lever follower, pull the lever down, and lift it fully up to release the latch.
Once installed, the latch will operate normally unless manually pushed back into the lock case.
