Yale G2000 Series Gearbox Overview
The Yale G2000 series gearbox is engineered with a unique hook configuration positioned above the latch, specifically designed for use with Yale cylinders. It's important to note that cylinders from other brands may not function with this lock, as Yale cylinders feature a larger cam that enhances operation.

Distinctive Layout: The hook above the latch is a hallmark of the G2000 series, making it easily identifiable. As Yale has discontinued these locks, replacement gearboxes are often the best solution for maintenance.

Color Variation: Original gearboxes were made in yellow chromate, but most replacements, whether genuine or copies, are now silver in color. If you're replacing a gearbox, expect to see a yellow or gold color in the old unit.

Dimensions: The G2000 gearboxes measure 194mm in height and 52mm in width. The latch itself is 30mm high, with a distance of 55mm from the top of the latch to the bottom of the hook.

Operation Instructions:
To Lock the Door:
- Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
- Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
- Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key (note that on some brands, lifting the handle will throw the deadbolt).
To Unlock the Door:
- Turn the key to unlock the system.
- Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
- A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.
