Product Overview: Fastlocking Europa Plus Gearboxes

Fastlocking Europa Plus gearboxes revolutionize door security with their innovative design. By simply lifting the handle, users can engage the locking points without needing to turn the key, enhancing convenience and efficiency. Unlike the old-style GU locks, these gearboxes feature a unique elongated hole at the top groove, setting them apart from traditional operation gearboxes.

Key Features:

• Backset Availability: Fastlocking Europa Plus GU gearboxes are exclusively available in a 35mm backset.

• Design Differentiation: New-style GU locks can be easily identified by their vertical groove at the top of the gearbox, which aids in the alignment of bolts for handles. In contrast, old-style locks have a top corner removed, making them incompatible with new-style gearboxes.

• Dimensions: GU multipoint lock gearboxes measure 191mm in height (excluding fixing lugs) and are 16mm wider than the backset. The latch stands at 32mm high, while the deadbolt measures 35mm high, with a distance of 54mm from the bottom of the latch to the top of the deadbolt.

• Installation: Gearboxes are secured to their faceplates with three screws, with specific measurements for screw placement: 108mm from the top to the middle screw and 92mm from the middle screw to the bottom screw.

• Measurement Tip: Always allow an additional 2mm when measuring your backset, ensuring the faceplate remains attached to the gearbox.

Operation Instructions:

To Lock the Door:

1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
2. Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
3. Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key (note: on some brands, lifting the handle will also throw the deadbolt).

To Unlock the Door:

1. Unlock the system by turning the key.
2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
3. A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Latch Reversal:

To reverse the latch, insert a flat-bladed screwdriver into the small rectangular slot above the spindle while simultaneously pulling out the latch. Reverse the latch and reinsert it for proper functionality.
