Product Overview: Permdor Gearboxes

Permdor gearboxes are designed to be the smallest on the market, measuring 185mm in height with a backset of +15mm. They feature a compact design with 64mm spacing between the latch and deadbolt, and 63mm from the spindle to the top of the gearbox. A unique groove above the spindle facilitates the installation of handles with a screw above the lever.

• Integrated Locking Mechanism: Each Permdor gearbox includes both a latch and a deadbolt, ensuring robust security.

• Distinctive Attachment: Gearboxes are secured to the faceplate using rivets, which can be easily removed for swaps, making Permdor gearboxes easily identifiable in the market.

• Old Models: Be aware of older models that may use screws for attachment and feature a passivated yellow finish. The operation type is indicated by a sticker (red for key wind, blue for lift lever).

Operation Instructions:

• Locking the Door:

  1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
  2. Lift the handle to engage additional locking points.
  3. Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key (some brands may throw the deadbolt by lifting the handle).

• Unlocking the Door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
  3. A quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Reversing the Latch and Nightlatch:

• Latch Reversal: Push in the latch to reveal a screw at the back of the lockcase. Undo the screw to remove the latch, reverse it, reinsert, and replace the screw.

• Nightlatch Reversal: Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to push the hollow black roll pin located in the rectangular slot next to the spindle hole to reverse the function.
