Multipoint Gearbox - Lift Lever or Split Spindle

Product Information

Introducing the Homesafe multipoint door lock gearboxes, designed with a unique square shape and no corner cutouts. These gearboxes measure 220mm in overall length, with a width determined by the backset plus an additional 18mm.

Available backsets include 35mm and 45mm options.

The Homesafe gearboxes feature a 24mm high latch, distinguished by two screws, and a 30mm high deadbolt, with a spacing of 61mm between them. Uniquely, these gearboxes are secured to the faceplate with four screws. The measurements between the screw holes are as follows: 37mm from the first to the second, 85mm from the second to the third, and 43mm from the third to the fourth.

When measuring the backset, remember to account for an additional 2-3mm for the faceplate. Thus, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure approximately 32mm when not attached to the strip.

Operation

• Locking the Door:

  1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
  2. Lift the handle to engage the additional locking points.
  3. Throw the deadbolt and secure the system by turning the key (note: on some brands, lifting the handle will automatically throw the deadbolt).

• Unlocking the Door:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
  3. A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Latch Reversal Instructions

To reverse the latch:

1. Unscrew the screws in the latch to remove it.
2. Reverse the latch and reinsert it, then replace the screws.

Nightlatch Split Spindle Reversal Instructions

To reverse the nightlatch split spindle:

1. Remove the latch to access a small screw.
2. Use a small bladed screwdriver to turn the screw 180 degrees.
3. Return the latch to its correct position.
