Introducing our versatile gearbox, available in both 35mm and 45mm backsets. This model features a latch and deadbolt mechanism and is designed as unsprung. The 45mm version utilizes a 35mm case, complemented by an extended latch and deadbolt, along with a 10mm packer piece for added functionality.
This gearbox is equipped with a double spindle and is unsprung, making it unsuitable for use with unsprung handles. The double spindle locks come with 62mm and 92mm centres, and we recommend pairing them with sprung door handles for optimal performance. It can operate in either lift lever or double spindle night latch functions.
Permdor gearboxes measure 228mm in height, with the backset plus an additional 15mm. The latch and deadbolt each measure 30mm in height, with a 65mm distance between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt.
Installation is straightforward, as gearboxes are fitted to faceplates with three screw holes. The distance from the top to the middle screw hole is 109mm, and the middle to the bottom also measures 109mm.
Earlier models of these gearboxes included a small spindle hole at the top of the case, adjacent to the latch, which was used to hold the latch back.
Operation Instructions
To lock the door:
- Lift the handle upwards to engage the locking points.
- Secure the locking points and main deadbolt (if applicable) by turning the key.
To unlock the door:
- Turn the key to unlock the system.
- Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
