Description
Product Overview: Elite Multipoint Lock
The Elite multipoint lock is designed for versatility and security, featuring a single spindle Roto gearbox that caters to a variety of applications. Manufactured in Europe, this lock is equipped with a "Silbear" coating, providing an impressive 480 hours of salt spray protection, ensuring durability in various environments.
Identification and Compatibility
To identify an Elite lock, look for the stamped Elite logo on the faceplate. This gearbox includes a slot and a small hole for bolt-through handles, enhancing its functionality. Notably, Elite has taken over the production of these locks from Roto-Frank, maintaining the same specifications and tooling, with the addition of the new Silbear coating. Previously known as the MVD range or "Roto mark 2" locks, these gearboxes offer a straightforward complete lock swap, although they are not interchangeable with original locks.
Design Variations
Elite locks come in both standard and compact versions, suitable for shorter doors while maintaining a consistent handle height of 950mm. The compact version features an overall length of 1810mm, making it adaptable for various door sizes.
Technical Specifications
- Gearbox Options: Available as a 35mm single spindle lock or with 35mm/45mm double spindles.
- Dimensions: Gearboxes measure 200mm high with a backset of +19mm. Remember to account for an additional 2mm for the faceplate when measuring.
- Deadbolt and Latch: The deadbolt projects 20mm and is 32mm high, while the latch is 30mm high and projects 10mm. The distance between the latch and deadbolt is 63mm.
- Centre Measurements: Positioned at 62mm and 92mm, with the top spindle located 122mm from the bottom of the case. Single spindle locks feature a round hole for the second spindle.
Roller Functionality
The lock includes rollers that compress to pull the door against the frame, minimizing dust and water ingress. While they do not significantly enhance security, they help prevent door warping by providing support across the full height of the door. Elite rollers are adjustable by +/- 1.2mm for optimal weather sealing.
Operation Instructions
To Lock the Door:
- Lift the handle upwards to engage the locking points.
- Secure the locking points and main deadbolt (if applicable) by turning the key.
To Unlock the Door:
- Turn the key to unlock the system.
- Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points and retract the latch.
Latch Reversal Instructions
To reverse the latch, simply undo the screw adjacent to the latch on the lock case, remove the latch, reverse it, reinsert, and replace the screw.
