Product Overview: ERA Deadbolt Multipoint Door Lock

The ERA Deadbolt multipoint door lock is engineered for security and durability, featuring a robust design with 2 rollers, 2 mushrooms, 1 deadbolt, and 1 latch. This lock is a popular choice in the UK, known for its reliability and ease of identification.

Identifying Your ERA Lock

Identifying an ERA multipoint door lock can be straightforward, but be cautious of rebranded versions. Many door and window companies use ERA locks, often stamping their faceplates with various brand names like Surelock, Saracen, and others. Look for the holdback snib on the faceplate, which is typically grey for deadbolt and hook bolt locks, and blue for Vectis locks. Note that some brands may have altered the snib color to black or green.

Distinctive Gearbox Design

ERA multipoint door lock gearboxes are characterized by their square design without corner cutouts. The standard dimensions include a length of 221mm and a width that adds 18mm to the backset. Available backsets include 30mm, 35mm, or 45mm, with all gearboxes maintaining the same dimensions. The locks can feature a classic deadbolt, standard euro cut out, Invincible cylinder cut out, or Vectis 5 lever mechanism.

Interchangeability and Customization

Most ERA gearboxes, excluding the British Standard Fortress lock and SureFire, are interchangeable. If your client requires a different locking mechanism, such as a hook lock instead of a deadbolt, we can customize the lock to meet their needs.

Locking Mechanism and Operation

The ERA multipoint door lock operates with a split spindle mechanism, allowing for easy replacements. To lock the door, lift the handle to engage the locking points, then turn the key to secure the deadbolt. To unlock, simply turn the key and push the handle down to retract the latch.

Performance and Compliance

This lock meets the BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 4 Corrosion Resistance standard, enduring 240 hours of testing. It has also been endurance tested for 50,000 cycles and is designed to comply with PAS24:2012 standards for enhanced security.

We offer a comprehensive range of associated products for the ERA Deadbolt multipoint door locks, including keeps, spindles, handles, and accessories, ensuring you have everything needed for installation and maintenance.

Measuring Guidelines

To ensure accurate measurements for your ERA multipoint door lock, follow these guidelines:

Backset Measurement
To measure the backset, take a ruler and measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock cylinder. This is crucial for ensuring the lock fits properly.

Centres PZ Measurement
The PZ measurement is the distance from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. Use a tape measure to get this distance accurately.

Faceplate Measurement
To measure the faceplate, you need to measure the width and length of the faceplate itself. This will help in selecting the correct faceplate from the drop-down options.

Operation
Understanding the operation of the lock is essential. The operation refers to how the lock engages and disengages. Ensure you select the correct option based on your specific needs.

By following these measurement guidelines, you can ensure that your ERA multipoint door lock is installed correctly and functions optimally.
