Latch Deadbolt 2 Hooks 2 Rollers Double Spindle Multipoint Door Lock (top roller to spindle = 730mm) - Shootbolt Compatible
Product Overview: Avocet Multipoint Door Lock
The Avocet multipoint door lock is a robust security solution featuring a combination of 2 rollers, 2 hooks, 1 deadbolt, and 1 latch. This lock is often recognized by its distinctive yellow finish, which should not be confused with the silver AVO352H2RSS model that has different roller positions.
Identification Features
Once removed from the door, Avocet locks are easily identifiable. Look for the Avocet logo stamped on the faceplates, although older models may bear the "WMS" logo. The unique gearbox shape, with a cut-out extending below the latch, further aids in identification.
Configurations and Variations
Originally, Avocet locks were available in various configurations, including hooks, rollers, and deadbolts. The earlier models were made from yellow passivated steel, giving them a distinctive brassy appearance. Recent updates have introduced stainless steel and Trivalent silver finishes. Notably, while most variations have been replaced, some, like the 2 roller and 2 mushroom locks, remain available.
Sash Lifter Device
Some models include a "sash lifter" device for improved alignment between the sash and frame. However, these are no longer produced, and we recommend replacing such locks with standard versions.
Backset and Compatibility
Most Avocet locks feature a 35mm backset, while the Affinity Bastion lock is designed for composite doors with a 45mm backset. Although some original 4 roller locks had a single spindle and lift lever functionality, current models are only available in a double spindle nightlatch configuration.
Gearbox Specifications
Avocet gearboxes measure 218mm high plus the backset (add 15mm). The unique cut-out in the top corner assists with handle fitment. The latch measures 29mm high, and the deadbolt is 34mm high, with an 82mm distance between them.
Lock Operation
To operate the lock:
-
Locking:
- Close the door to engage the latch.
- Lift the handle to engage the locking points.
- Turn the key to secure the system.
-

- Or, undoing the screw in the center of the latch, reversing, reinserting, and replacing the screw.
This lock is suitable for use on UPVC and aluminum doors, providing versatile security options for various applications.
