Installation Notes:

KFV cases are riveted onto strips and require drilling and re-riveting for installation. It's important to note that older KFV locks have different connectors and cannot be replaced with newer gearboxes. When replacing gearboxes, ensure that the model is compatible, as early KFV models may have different rivet spacing.

Latch Reversal Instructions:

Depending on the manufacturing date, the latch can be reversed using one of the following methods:

  1. Method 1:

    • Push in the latch and undo the screw at the back of the lock case.
    • Remove the latch, reverse it, and reinsert.
  2. Method 2:

    • Push in the latch and undo the screw on the side of the lock case.
    • Remove the latch, reverse it, and reinsert.
  3. Method 3:

    • Pull down the serrated button at the rear of the case while simultaneously pulling out and reversing the latch. Note that some serrated buttons may be secured with a tiny travel pin, requiring a screwdriver to push down hard to break the pin.

Operation Instructions:

  • To Lock the Door:

    1. Close the door to automatically engage the latch.
    2. Turn the key to throw and engage the locking points.
  • To Unlock the Door:

    1. Turn the key to unlock by unwinding the locking points.
    2. A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.
