Features:

Fuhr locks come with a pre-fitted ball bearing and spring, enhancing the locking feel when operated. This feature is crucial for a positive locking experience. Be cautious of replacement gearboxes that may lack these components; all Duffells' replacement Fuhr gearboxes include them for seamless installation.

Latch Compatibility:

When replacing an existing Fuhr multipoint lock or gearbox, note that latch heights may vary. Older models feature a 28mm high latch, while newer versions have a 33mm high latch. If the old latch is intact, it can be reused by unscrewing the allen key bolt in the old gearbox.

Measuring the Backset

To measure the backset, you need to determine the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole. Use a tape measure for accuracy. This measurement is crucial for ensuring that your lock fits properly within the door frame.

Measuring the Centres

The centres measurement refers to the distance between the keyhole and the handle hole. For a PZ measurement of 92mm, measure from the center of the keyhole to the center of the handle hole. This ensures that both components align correctly for optimal functionality.

Key Wind Operation

The key wind operation involves using a key to engage the locking mechanism. When the key is turned, it activates the latch and deadbolt, securing the door. This type of operation is known for its reliability and ease of use, making it a popular choice for multipoint locking systems.
