Product Overview: Kenrick Excalibur Multipoint Door Lock

The Kenrick Excalibur multipoint door lock is designed for enhanced security and durability, featuring a robust configuration of 4 rollers and 1 latch. This lock is ideal for both UPVC and aluminium doors, ensuring a secure fit and reliable operation.

Key Features:

• Multipoint Locking System: Equipped with a latch, hook, and 4 rollers, this lock provides comprehensive security.

• Identification: Look for the brand stamped on the faceplate or the Secured By Design logo. A small black snib below the latch can also help in identification, although similar models from other manufacturers may feature a holdback snib.

• Gearbox Options: Available with single or double spindle gearboxes, with centres at either 92mm or 62mm. Both options are sprung, allowing for the use of sprung or unsprung door handles.

• Dimensions: The overall height is 225mm, secured with 3 screw holes. The top spindle is positioned 128mm from the bottom of the gearbox, facilitating the identification of compatible handles.

• Backset Measurement: When measuring the backset, account for 2-3mm for the faceplate. For instance, a 35mm backset gearbox will measure 32mm when not fixed to the strip.

• Roller Functionality: Rollers assist in compressing the door against the frame, preventing dust and water ingress while also helping to maintain the door's structural integrity.

Operation Instructions:

• To Lock:

  1. Close the door to engage the latch automatically.
  2. Lift the handle to engage the locking points.
  3. Turn the key to secure the system.

• To Unlock:

  1. Turn the key to unlock the system.
  2. Push the handle down to disengage the locking points.
  3. A quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.

Testing and Compliance:

Kenrick Excalibur locks are rigorously tested to withstand 100,000 cycles and a minimum of 240 hours of salt spray testing, surpassing BS EN 1670:2007 standards. They are also recognized as an approved Secured by Design supplier, with some models compatible with PAS24.

Latch Reversal:

To reverse the latch, simply undo the screw, remove the latch, reverse it, reinsert, and replace the screw.
