Description
Introducing the Norsound Automatic Drop Seal – the perfect solution for ensuring a tight seal at the threshold of your doors. This innovative drop seal unit is designed to mount seamlessly to the underside of your door, activating automatically upon closing to eliminate any gaps.
With its spring-activated seal blade, the Norsound Automatic Drop Seal drops up to a maximum stroke of 12mm when the door is closed, providing an effective barrier against drafts, noise, and unwanted pests. When the door opens, the blade retracts, allowing for smooth operation without hindrance.
Available in multiple lengths (320mm and 400mm), this retrofit-style unit comes complete with all necessary fixing hardware, making installation a breeze. The sleek mill finish of the case and blade ensures a professional look that complements any door design.

Fitment & What to Check
Before placing your order, ensure you:
- Confirm the required Length option (320mm or 400mm).
- Check the door underside profile and available recess depth for the 44 x 13.5mm case section.
- Verify the maximum drop/stroke (12mm) against the threshold gap for full closure engagement.
- Confirm clearance for the 20mm protrusion when the seal is deployed.
- Assess whether the door leaf and frame construction allow for surface or recessed fitment based on site conditions.
Common Ordering Mistakes
To avoid issues when ordering, be mindful of the following:
- Don’t order a single fixed length without checking available length options.
- Avoid assuming the 12mm maximum drop will seal larger threshold gaps.
- Confirm case sectional dimensions (44 x 13.5mm) against the door rebate or surface mounting area.
- Don’t overlook the need to verify fire-door compatibility documentation where required.
